BSR (Best Sellers Rank)

Best Sellers Rank is a category-internal ranking based on Amazon's view of recent sales velocity. It's distinct from organic search rank: BSR is a category leaderboard, while organic search rank is the position of your listing on a specific search results page. The two are correlated but not identical — a niche listing can have a high BSR within a small subcategory and a low organic rank for broad keywords. BSR updates approximately hourly. The 24-48 hour decay window means a one-day sales spike can push BSR meaningfully, but the lift fades quickly without follow-through.
